Avalanche Software is the game studio that developed Disney Infinity. It was founded October 1995. Originally an independent studio, it was acquired by Disney Interactive Studios (formerly Buena Vista Games), Disney's video game branch, in April 2005. It was then later merged with its sister studio, Fall Line, in January 2009 by Disney Interactive. It developed several games for Disney since and was headed by John Blackburn. After Disney Infinity's cancellation, the studio was shut down by Disney in May 2016,[1] but was reopened and acquired by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in January 2017.[2]
