Disney Infinity Wiki:Category Usage

Here at Disney Infinity WIki, we administrators try not to rule with an iron fist. However, the one thing we have had more problems with than anything else is categories. Our categories have been a source of much confusion among our users. For this reason, we have created this, the category usage guidelines page. This page details the proper usage of each one of our categories. The proper use for each category is also outlined on the page for the category itself, which are also linked to here on this page.

Game Categories

• Disney INFINITY 2.0 - This category is for things that first appeared in Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition.
• DI - This category is for things that appear in Disney Infinity. (And as a result, also first introduced in that game.)
• [[::Category:DI2|DI2]] - This category is for things that appear in Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition. This includes toys that also appeared in the first game that make a return.

Character Categories

• Characters - This category is for all characters that appear in the Disney Infinity games, playable or otherwise, including costumes.
• Playable Characters - This category is for all playable characters in the games.
  • Crossover Characters - This category is for all crossover characters, or all playable characters who can cross over from their play set into another that is not their typical play set.
  • Crystal Figures - This category is for all playable characters that have crystal variants.
  • Starter Character - This category is for all playable characters that come with a starter pack for one of the games.
  • Toy Box Only - This category is for all playable characters that are only playable in toy box mode.
  • There are also categories for each of the special abilities that a playable character can have on their skill tree:
    • Flying Characters - For all playable characters that can fly.
    • Super Jump Characters - For all playable characters who possess the super jump ability.
    • Super Strength Characters - For all playable characters who have the super strength ability.
    • Technology Characters - For all playable characters who possess the technology ability, enabling them to hack computers.
    • Villain Characters - For all playable characters who are villains, and have the villain symbol on their skill tree.
    • Wall Climbing Characters - For all playable characters who possess the ability to climb up the sides of walls.
    • Web Swing Characters - For all playable characters who possess the ability to swing across long distances on lines of web or rope.
• Non-Playable Characters - This category is for all characters in the games who are not playable.
  • Enemies - This category is for characters that attack the player, including [[::Category:Bosses|bosses]].
    • [[::Category:Bosses|Bosses]] - This category is for enemy characters that are bosses. (Note: This can include playable characters, like Syndrome, who is the boss of The Incredibles Playset.)
  • Cast Member - This category is for all characters in the games who are Cast Members in Disney INFINITY. This means all characters who are mission givers and NPC's, but are not costumes.
  • Costume - This category is for all costume characters in the games.
    • Sidekicks - This category is for all sidekicks in the games, or all costumes equipped with weapons that follow and defend the player, and have a health meter.
    • Toy Builder - This category is for all costumes that are also toy builders, which means they can build certain things in toy box mode.
  • Playset Townsperson - This category is for all non-playable character townspeople that appear in a play set in Disney INFINITY.
  • Toy Box Townspeople - This category is for all non-playable characters who only appear in Toy Box mode in Disney INFINITY.
• Heroes - This category is for all good characters in the games.
• Villains - This category is for all evil characters in the games.
• Princesses - This category is for all characters in the games who are princesses.
• Superheroes - This category is for all of the characters in the game who are superheroes.

Object Categories

• Objects - This category is for all objects that appear in the game. (Not costumes.)
• Building - This category is for all buildings in the games. This includes everything in the buildings category, along with all other building structures in the games, toy or not.
• Weapon - This category is for all weapons in the game, including weapon packs and tools, vehicle weapons, and weapons that are enemies, like the Pop-Up Turret.
  • Default Only Weapon - This category is for all weapons that are available for use only by default on a certain character, and are not unlockable for use by all characters.
  • Vehicle Weapon - This category is for all vehicle weapons, or the weapons that can be mounted on the sides of a vehicle.

Toy Categories

• Toy - This category is for all toys in the games, or more specifically, anything that can be placed in the toy box.
• Toy Types - This category is for all pages describing a type of toy and displaying the list of the toys that fall into its category.
  • Action Toys - This category is for all toys in the games that fall under the category of Action Toys.
  • Basic Toys - This category is for all toys in the games that fall under the category of Basic Toys.
  • Blocks - This category is for all toys in the category of Blocks in the games.
  • Buildings - This category is for all toys in the category of Buildings in the games.
  • Creativi-Toys - This category is for all toys in the category of Creativi-Toys in the games.
  • Critters - This category is for all creatures in the Critters category in the games. Generally, the small animal toys in the game that run around when placed.
  • Decoration - This category is for all toys in the Decorations category in the games, not including INterior decorations.
  • Mount - This category is for all mounts in the games, or all animals that are rideable.
  • My INterior - This category is for all INterior decorations, rooms, and INterior customizations.
  • Packs - This category is for all gadgets in the games that are equipped via the packs menu, or those that come in the form of a backpack worn by the character.
  • Rooms - This category is for all INterior rooms in the games.
  • Set Piece - This category is for all toys in the category of Set Pieces in the games.
  • Sports Toys - This category is for all toys in the Sports Toys category in the games.
  • Terrain - This category is for all toys in the games that fall into the category of Terrain. These are large pieces of land.
  • Tools - This category is for all gadgets in the game that are equipped via the tools menu, or those that do not show up as a backpack worn by the character.
  • Track Pieces - This category is for all toys in the Track Pieces category in the game. This includes all race track pieces, rails, race track obstacles, and all other things in the category.
  • Vehicle - This category is for all vehicles in the games (whether they are a toy or not).
• Toy Vault - This category is for everything that is unlocked from the Disney Infinity Toy Vault in Disney Infinity.
• Character Chest - This category is for everything unlocked from a Character Chest or Avatar Vault in Disney Infinity.
• Building Sets - This category is for all building sets in the games, along with all of the toys included therein. There is also a category for each individual building set:
  • Agrabah Palace - For all toys that are part of the Agrabah Palace building set.

Franchise Categories

These categories are used to denote certain franchises to which a page may belong. Our full alphabetical list of franchise pages is as follows:

Power Disc Categories

• Power Disc - This category is for all power discs.
  • Ability Disc - This category is for all power discs that give the player a certain special ability by using them.
  • Costume Change Disc - This category is for all power discs that change what a given playable character is wearing.
  • Customization Disc - This category is for all power discs that change the skydome or terrain of the toy box.
  • Event Disc - This category is for all power discs that trigger an event to occur in the game which will defeat enemies for you.
  • Rare Power Disc - This category is for all rare power discs in the games, or the power discs that are designated as being more special or harder to find than others. Most are marked by translucent colored edges.
  • Team Up Power Disc - This category is for all power discs that cause a non-playable character to appear alongside the playable character and fight for them for a short period of time.
  • Toy Disc - This category is for all power discs that summon a toy (a vehicle, mount, pack or tool).

Series Categories

• Series 1 - This category is for all the items released in Series 1 of the Disney Infinity releases.
• Series 2 - This category is for all the items released in Series 2 of the Disney Infinity releases.
• Series 3 - This category is for all the items released in Series 3 of the Disney Infinity releases.
• DI2 Wave 1 - This category is for all the items released in Series 1 of the Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition releases.
• DI2 Wave 2 - This category is for all the items released in Series 2 of the Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition releases.

Customization Categories

• Skydome - This category is for all skydomes in the games, or all different skies that can be applied to the toy box via the Sky Changer.
• Texture Set - This category is for all texture sets in the games, or all of the different color themes that can be applied to terrain blocks and plants.

Featured Toy Box Categories

• [[::Category:Featured Toy Boxes|Featured Toy Boxes]] - This category is for all featured toy boxes, or all toy boxes built by either a user or by Disney and then featured by Disney for download by the community and added to Disney's Featured Toy Box database.
  • [[::Category:First Place Winner|First Place Winner]] - This category is for all featured toy boxes that took first place in a featured toy box challenge.
  • Second Place Winner - This category is for all featured toy boxes that took second place in a featured toy box challenge.
  • Third Place Winner - This category is for all featured toy boxes that took third place in a featured toy box challenge.
  • Fourth Place Winner - This category is for all featured toy boxes that took fourth place in a featured toy box challenge.
  • Fifth Place Winner - This category is for all featured toy boxes that took fifth place in a featured toy box challenge.
  • Disney-Created Toy Box - This category is for all featured toy boxes created by Disney rather than by a regular user.
  • Special Featured Toy Boxes - This category is for all user-generated featured toy boxes that were featured by Disney, but were not part of any specific challenge.

Challenge Categories

Each Featured Toy Box also gets a category for the specific challenge they took a particular place in. For exmaple, the Wreck-It Ralph Challenge winners get a Wreck-It Ralph Challenge category.

Adventure Categories

• Adventures - This category is for all adventures in Disney Infinity; specifically, all the special challenges in the game made by Disney that characters can play to earn experience points, many of which come with and are exclusive to certain characters.
  • Character Adventures - This category is for all adventures in Disney Infinity that are character-specific; that is, that come with and must be played with a specific playable character.

Accessory Categories

• Accessories - This category is for all accessories to the games, or all physical items other than the game itself, figures, or power discs.
  • Games - This category is for all of the games and spin-offs in the Disney Infinity series.
    • Disney Infinity Apps - This category is for all Disney Infinity themed apps.
  • Playset - This category is for all Play Sets in the games.
  • Storage - This category is for all objects that are used to store game pieces.
  • Toy Box Games - This category is for all game discs in the Disney Infinity games.

Miscellaneous Categories

• Abilities - This category is for all abilities that the playable characters can use in the games.
• Achievements - This category is for all pages of achievements in the Disney Infinity games.
• Companies - This category is for all companies that helped make the Disney Infinity games.
• Disney Infinity Creators - This category is for the people and companies that helped create the Disney Infinity games.
• Elephants - This category is for all elephants in the games.
• Events - This category is for all public events related to the Disney Infinity games.
• Franchises - This category is for all pages representing franchises.
• Galleries - This category is for all of the gallery pages on this wiki. (Note: The galleries only go in this category.)
• Horses - This category is for all horses in the games.
• List Pages - This category is for all pages that are lists of items.
• [[::Category:Live-Action|Live-Action]] - This category is for all franchises that are live-action rather than animated. (This only applies to actual franchise pages, not characters or toys.)
• Locations - This category is for all locations in the games.
• Miscellaneous - This category is for anything hat does not fit into any other category, or any category that is permitted to be created. This category is to be used only in special situations, when nothing else can possibly fit.
• Scrapped - This category is for anything that was cut from the final version of any Disney Infinity game.
• Songs - This category is for all songs in the Disney Infinity games.
• Starter Pack - This category is for all items that come in a starter pack for one of the games.
• Stores - This category is for all pages for retailers associated with Disney Infinity games.
• Toy Vault Spin Pack - This category is for all toy vault spin packs unlocked from the toy vault in Disney Infinity.
• Toys R Us exclusive - This category is for everything in the games that is or ever was exclusively sold at the retailer Toys "R" Us.

Documentation Categories

• Blog posts - This category is for all blog posts created on this wiki, and is automatically added to them upon their creation. There is no need to add it to anything, except in special situations.
• Content - This category is for the main content on the wiki.
• Disambiguations - This category is for all disambiguation pages.
• Help - This category is for pages that help new users figure out how to use the wiki.
• Hidden categories - This category is for categories that are hidden from view of users.
• News - This category is used to mark user blogs that convey new information relevant to the games.
• Organization - This category is to help organize things on the wiki.
• [[::Category:Pages with broken file links|Pages with broken file links]] - This category denotes pages that have red links to pictures, or those that link to pictures that do not exist.
• Policies - This category is for all pages that discuss the rules and policies of this site.
• Poll Records - This category is for the records of the monthly polls conducted on the main page of this wiki.
  • Character Tournament - This category is for the records of the character tournament polls conducted on the main page.
• Top 10 Lists - This category is used for all top 10 list polls on this wiki.
• Unfinished pages - This category is used to mark pages that do not yet contain all their necessary information.

• The featured toy box pages do not get the category of the franchise they are based on.
